Bloat occurs when ingested food material create a stable, trapped foam in the rumen. This foam prevents the cardia at the base of the oesophagus from opening and releasing the gas. Eructation failure results in a build up of pressure on the heart and lungs. Death can occur within 30 minutes of clinical symptoms. COMPOSITION Bloat Guard Drench is a liquid composed of 83.3% Poloxalene. Poloxalene is a surfactant which breaks down the foam so that gas is released, thus relieving the condition. Bloat Guard Premix is a granular product composed of 53% Poloxalene and 47% exfoliated vermiculite. The vermiculite acts as an inert, absorbent base for the Poloxalene.
